Home means many things to many people. Here are the many things that it means to me (and what I consequently want to talk about here on this blog) :
- Feminine Spirituality: I write about coming home to ourselves, most especially our feminine essence and to God/Goddess. I work on reconnecting with my Essential Self, the Goddess within who moves and breathes through Me. I sort and sift through my faith, learning to hold on to what is worth keeping (like Christ who has been my childhood Companion and Teacher) and letting go of what no longer serves me (like Dogma). I embrace Truth and Wisdom wherever She may be found.
- Sacred Sexy Self Care: I write about coming home to our bodies, especially as women and moms. I am passionate about moms taking great care of themselves in ways authentic to their feminine nature. I am committed to choosing Joy no matter what, saying yes to Pleasure, honoring my Body and inhabiting my Present Moment. I believe Diseases (like Depression, which I’ve long struggled with) always have something to teach us and that we have the Power to Heal Our Lives. I know that Healing is a Lifelong Process and treating ourselves with Kindness moment by moment is key.
- Velveteen Mama Diaries: I write about coming home to motherhood. Motherhood is an inside job. Whatever problems we have with our children has nothing to do with them but everything with us, our Perceptions and Judgements. I believe that parenting is not about being attached, or playful or even natural but about becoming authentic. What our children need the most is for us to be Who we Truly are.
- Happily Ever After: I write about coming home to intimacy. Consciously sharing our everyday life, our body, and pretty much everything else with someone not exactly like us is a real Teacher in the Art of Love. I want to explore about meaning, friendship and sexuality between couples with children and how to make marriage last.
- Learning Without Schooling: I write about coming home to Creativity. Picasso once said that all children are artists and I thoroughly believe that. And I know that our unconscious ways we think about ourselves and our children destroy the Creative Spirit alive in all of us. How many adults around you do what they love for a living? The current education system in America is outdated and reforms are no longer enough. Our paradigm of what it means to learn is changing. Homeschooling is on the rise and a learning revolution is underway. I’m jumping on board with both feet.
- Magical Childhood: I write about coming home to childlikeness. I explore what it’s like growing up with my child and seeing the world through her eyes. I write about Play, Curiosity, Wonder and Presence – the simple and essential ingredients for a Creative Life.
- Real Food Hacks: I write about coming home to real food. Much of our problems in our present society as well as with our bodies stem from the way we denature and abuse food and its source. We are what, why and how we eat. Ani Phyo wisely said that “food is the most intimate thing you can buy…Unlike clothes and shoes that dress the outside, food goes into your body and builds who you become.” Here, I share what I’m learning about real food, cooking from scratch, traditional cooking and wellness.
- Healthy Treats: I had to make this a special topic because who can live without sweets? We are currently on a sugar-free (and grain-free!) diet so many of the recipes I’ll be sharing will be using alternative sweeteners such as honey, maple syrup, stevia, dates, applesauce and such as (and Paleo friendly too!)
- Remedial Homemaking: I write about coming home to domesticity. I dive into the Domestic Arts and explore what it looks like to shift from consumer to creator, to be mindful about our spending and ways we use natural resources in ways true to who we are.
- DIY + Simple Handmades: An extension of Remedial Homemaking, but more the finished products and tutorials as a result.
- I Have A Dream: I write about coming home to our Childhood Dreams. Here, I share my journey of reconnecting with my Childhood Dreams (of being a dancer, public speaker, actress, teacher, counselor, singer!) and making them happen in some shape or form. I believe that Now is never too late and that it’s about taking that One Baby Step wherever you are.
- Blogging and Social Media: I write about coming home to our place online. I believe that we all have a gift to share with the world and the internet has made a way for us to do that. There’s a conscious connectedness that is available to us
